The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is a leading national non-profit health care organization focused on improving quality of care for people living with serious illness. The Senior Associate, Marketing and Communications, will be a savvy, energetic social media / community manager responsible for managing multiple projects that position CAPC as a thought leader in the palliative care space and beyond. This fully-remote position includes creating social media plans and content that enhance the CAPC mission, image, and brand experience; engaging with the CAPC community on social media; copywriting/editing; website editing; light graphic design; and short-form video creation. The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is a national organization dedicated to increasing the availability of quality, equitable health care for people living with a serious illness. The organization maintains a national membership to support the growth of palliative care programs in health care organizations across the country and the world, and we deliver palliative care education to tens of thousands of clinicians each year. As the nation’s leading resource in its field, CAPC provides health care professionals and organizations with the training, tools, and technical assistance necessary to meet the needs of patients with serious illness.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications, develop and implement dynamic social media campaigns reaching thousands of health care professionals across the U.S.
  • Create and manage organic social media, positioning CAPC as a national thought leader in the palliative care space (includes monitoring social media channels after traditional work hours); measure and assess against goals
  • Create social media graphics and short form videos
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of CAPC’s primary website, capc.org, and other microsites
  • Assist with public awareness initiatives that spread the word about palliative care
  • Assist with podcast development and production, as necessary
  • Assist with CAPC’s presence at tradeshows and conferences, as necessary, including managing marketing collateral
  • Develop and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships, ensuring strong communication and project management between departments
  • Performs other duties as required in support of CAPC’s reputation-enhancing activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • 3 years required; 5+ years of hands-on experience managing multiple social media platforms for another organization preferred
  • Experience creating short-form videos for social media
  • Superb skill in writing for a broad range of audiences
  • Ability to integrate audience insights into the development of creative strategies
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Adept at working on simultaneous projects at once
  • Willingness to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a remote team environment
  • Additional preferred experience:
    • Social media scheduling and email platforms
    • CMS such as WordPress or Wagtail
    • Salesforce
    • Photoshop
    • Canva
  • Experience working in a health care-related organization helpful

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65,885.00 - $98,827.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
